Divisional Overview
Pannala Divisional Secretary’s Division comprises 87 Grama Niladhari divisions. The division is sub-divided into three koralas for administrative convenience:
- Eastern Korala
- Western Korala
- Pitgal Korala
One of the largest Grama Niladhari divisions in Kurunegala District.
Agrarian Services & Social Welfare
- Three Agrarian Service Centers:
- Yakwila
- Hamangalla
- Velpalla
- Six Samurdhi Welfare Zones:
- Velpalla
- Mohottava
- Yakwila
- Pannala
- Giriulla
- Makandura
Law Enforcement & Security
Since 2021, the division has three police stations to ensure public safety and law enforcement.
Educational Administration
One Education Zonal Office oversees school administration and educational development. One Divisional Education Office supports regional academic activities.
Local Governance
The division falls under the Katugampala electorate. Pannala Pradeshiya Sabha serves as the local government authority. It operates with three sub-offices to ensure efficient service delivery:

- Yakwila Sub Office
- Makadura Sub Office
Administrative Hub
- The Pannala Divisional Secretariat, located in Pannala town, serves as the primary administrative center.
- It hosts branch offices of various Ministries and Departments, managing key governance functions under the Divisional Secretary.
